Journal Highlights from March and April

What a rush the pop of spring blooms can be. I have a hard time not filling up a weekly spread in my perpetual journal in one sitting! But then there are times of overwhelm as well~ with too much to sketch at one time.

What to do?

Follow the advise of Ralph Waldo Emerson:

“Adopt the pace of nature. Her secret is patience”

I also take a deep breath and realize whatever I can capture will be enough. My April sketching was hit and miss. The important thing was to grab sketching moments when I could.

Here are the highlights from late March to late April which include perpetual journal entries, my retirement diaries volume II update; sketching live at the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra and some fun on my ipad using Procreate (the only way I like to work with charcoal ; ) I first discovered this less messy way to have charcoal sketching fun back in 2012 – see it in this post.
