I really enjoyed your workshop and am already putting into practice what I learned.  Thank you so much for your generosity in sharing your knowledge and your encouraging and gentle way of teaching.  You are a gem, Pam!

- Judy Howells

“You are very sweet and generous with your time and you clearly exude a love of nature in your art that rubs off on your admiring students in a wonderful way. Your classes this winter and spring have added a  richness to my life and I thank you for that!”

- Clare Ellis

“Had such a good time yesterday. Even though I’ve taken a bunch of classes from you over the years- the first in 2011!!- I always hear something new. And having been away from any painting for over a year now it’s a good way to jumpstart myself and start some excitement! Thanks!”

Thank you for every minute of your sweet nature and encouraging temperament. Teachers are everywhere, in all sorts of guises, but not many do such a D. good  job of it. Talented and generous….not a bad tag to have. With much appreciation.

“Our 3-day workshop with Pam was an outstanding experience. Pam is a terrific teacher who brings out the best in both novice and advanced artists. She has a rare gift of bringing a group together to create a friendly and safe environment that fosters individual expression and respect for each participant. Above all, her love of art and nature is contagious – we are eager to continue our journey through another of Pam’s workshops.”

“Thank you, thank you, thank you!  You were such an encouragement to these kids and to our school.  Thank you for taking time to do this – for investing in our kids who are often forgotten and left out.  I appreciated that you tried to pull them out of their comfort zones and invited them try to new things in a safe environment.  I also enjoyed how we did part of the lesson inside and part of the lesson outside.  You also planned to sustain short attention spans, and it worked!”

“Once again, I just want to say thank you for investing in our learners.   In fact, they have repeatedly told me that this was their favorite day of school, ever – seriously!”

“Pam Brickell is an excellent artist and art instructor. She is adept at various media and styles.  I have been particularly impressed with her sketching, journaling, traditional and digital watercolor work.  I had never done any painting until she encouraged and inspired me to try watercolor painting.  Pam has a patient and simple approach to instruction and has a gift of encouragement which keeps a student confident and striving for improvement.  Although I discovered painting late in life, Pam has instilled in me a love of this art that I am sure will be with me the rest of my life.”

“What a wonderful class, the time really flew by and I learned so much about the watercolor pencil technique.  Starting this afternoon my journal will have color pictures and it will be interesting to see how I grow.”

“Class was so much fun!  I am really glad I took it and “caught” your inspiration for the medium and the concept.  Today we discovered a great horned owl in a tree in our yard, sitting on a nest – so I did a journal page of her!

“I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed your journaling workshop.  I can’t wait to fill my pages, and complete my garden journal with things from my own garden.  It was such a wonderful respite from my daily grinds, and I hope to develop the habit of at least sketching quickly the things that catch my eye.  I think it will definitely help me relax.”

“You are such a great teacher.  All of your advice and your grand experience made this workshop so special. I learned a lot during these 3 days and today I feel really motivated to draw and paint. In fact my new resolution is: to practice a little bit every day in order to make some progress. I thought about this may times but today it’s time to do it!!!!!!”
