Spring Peeper

In the late evening of Ground Hog day, after Phil had seen his shadow, I heard a lone Spring Peeper, Pseudacris crucifer, call from the woods 🙂

There is hope that is cold blast will end!

  1. Hi, Quiltin’ Mama! Isn’t is such a joy to observe the smallest details in winter. As much as I don’t miss snow, I do miss the Snow moon’s light reflecting off of the white stuff. It makes you want to bundle up and go for a mid-night stroll. I like your term ‘watching the seasons flow.’

I haven’t heard any more peepers since that night. We’re warming up again so maybe their sweet song will be back.

  2. Wow- well the peepers won’t peep here for another 4-6 weeks if we are lucky but we are having a nice stretch of mild weather – that is above 32 in the day and not below 20 at night. Actually has topped off in the 40s a few days- mere balmy weather. Few sprouts are showing them selves in the garden and birds are a little more active. The great Snow moon is gorgeous up here! Maple sap is running a bit as well but it is way early for it. Enjoy as we watch the seasons flow. Can’t wait for our peepers!!
