The Sketch Friend Friday Series has a main goal of getting you out ‘into the field’ to sketch and paint the wonders you see, armed with the confidence and skills needed to fill your journals.
Learning about color is a lifelong journey. It pairs really well with your journey of discovery through art. Once your comfort level is reached with a new skill and you yearn to take the next step, sketching, painting and color are ready and waiting. Lots to discover!
For this class, use the colors you already own.
But, If you are brand new to watercolors and have no paint what so ever, then you have a few choices:
– Attend the zoom class and ask questions or view the recording when it becomes available (usually within a week of the class) before purchasing any supplies.
– If you wish to purchase paints for class, start with Hansa Yellow Light, Quinacridone Rose and Ultramarine
– Or Daniel Smith sells an Essentials Set that has both warm and cool primary colors. Pam will be using this set at some point during the class. It’s one of her staple paint supplies.
Once registered, you’ll receive an email with information on the sketchbook, bushes and paint Pam will be using, plus two photographs and sketches you may transfer into your sketchbook. . Again, it is not necessary to have the supplies being demonstrated. Think of it as more informational than necessary to have the same things. You’ll come away from this workshop with an idea of what colors you may want to add to your palette.
The Zoom link will be sent via email on the morning of the workshop. If you are unable to attend live, no worries. All registrants will receive a link to the recorded session a few days after class and have a full two weeks access to the video. Please note: If you are not logged into the zoom class by 1:35 pm, you will not gain entry. The recorded version will be sent to you within a week.
