2024 Marks a Special Anniversary!
Wowza! If my first journal was a piece of furniture, it would be considered an antique. That’s a weird feeling. My dearly departed urban sketching buddy, Doug Corkern, would always answer the infamous question: “How long did it take you to draw that?” with his age. ie: 81 years and 5 days. He was so right with his thinking. Every experience we have, every mark we make prepares us for the one we make today.
I can say for sure ~ Nature & Art makes for a Happy Heart!

Your accumulated sketchbooks are such a treasure as they beautifully document your observations of the world. Quite an inspiration.
Thank you for your kind words, Kathleen! I do love looking back through the years with them.
Oh dear. I guess that makes me an antique too. My official journal starts in 1976; but I’ve got several fits and starts and sketchbooks that go back to the late 1960s. I only wish I had started sooner. Congratulations on your milestone!
Like fine wine, Elva, we are aged to perfection : )
I didn’t count the sketchbooks in art school, but that would only add 3 years. Wowza to sketching in the late 60s! I wish I had known to keep a sketchbook when growing up on a farm. I have a journal started in which I’m looking back and recording memories, but it’s a slow go.
