Have you been wanting to take your art supplies outside to sketch, but….
– are hesitant about what to bring/carry?
– feel you need more drawing skills?
– just learning to use watercolor?
Join Pam for a fun and instructional art day capturing lowcounty late autumn beauty at the public passive park: Widgeon Point Preserve.
Pam introduces students to the joys of sketching in the great outdoors. On site demonstrations are followed by in-the-field times structured for students to create journal pages while receiving one-on-one guidance from Pam. Pack a lunch! The day concludes with a show and tell, featuring pages created along with guidance for the next steps needed in the continuation of working plein air.
We’ll be Walking and Sitting – Please read
Widgeon Point Preserve contains 162 acres of mixed pine-hardwood forest, maritime forest and salt marsh along the Broad River. A 0.7 mile hiking trail follows along the perimeter of the park. It’s a well maintained trail and provides easy walking. There is a bird blind overlooking a freshwater pond and a covered picnic area that has a few tables. There are port-a-jons, but no inside restroom facilities. There is no guarantee that the picnic area will be available for our use, as it’s first come first serve. However, I think we may be able to use it some : )
