Class Sylabus
Day 1 – In the studio / 9am – 12pm
• Introduction to supplies
• Basic Watercolor Techniques: working with a waterbrush, mixing color using limited palette, drawing with your brush
•Using ink and watercolor
• Lettering basics
• Homework… yep : )
Day 2 – Inside / Outside / 9am – 1pm
- • Critique of homework pages
• Warmup / Color mixing review
• Let’s take it into the field
• Show and TellWhat to Bring?
Required supplies and where to find them ~
• 7×10 or 9×12 Canson Mixed Media Sketchbook (or water media journal of your choice
• pencil and eraser (suggestions: mechanical pencil with 7mm or 9mm lead, click style eraser
• clipboard (similar to one pictured on page 1 of this pdf)
• pencil case to hold small items

Day 2 ~ Be prepared for sketching outside: sunscreen, hat, bug spray, drink, snack,
campstool or some type of lightweight folding chair/stool
Don’t Have any Watercolor Supplies?
When you register, click the option: ‘Yes’ before Add to Cart .
Supplies included in ‘Register / with paint supplies’:
– 4″ x 8″ folding palette, paint wells filled with following Daniel Smith pigments: Hansa Yellow Light, New Gamboge, Quin. Rose, Pyrrol Scarlet, French Ultramarine, Phathalo blue GS, Burnt Sienna and Raw Sienna.
– Black and Sanquine archival and waterproof art pens
– Medium Pentel Waterbrush.
Exercise and information sheets are provided to everyone.
Terms & Conditions
Refunds will be processed up to 21 days prior to the workshop, minus an administration fee of $30.00. Any refunds requested after that date will be processed at 50% of the course fee unless the spot can be filled from the wait list. If filled, the refund will incur the administration fee of $30.
