Pam, Thank you so much for asking about my situation.
I don't talk about it much on my blog, but I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer last September and have been in chemotherapy going on 11 months. As part of the side effects I have severe fatigue and numbness in my feet and hands. I usually have about one week out of every three that I feel strong enough to get out of the house, walk in the garden, and feel up to drawing and painting. My network of virtual art friends has become a wonderful diversion for me in the last few months. Prior to April I could not draw at all. But my doctor changed my medicine in April then I was finally able to paint again after such a long time.
I have spent a lot of time during these difficult times going through my journals from the last 15 years and posting previous drawings, it has been so much fun. Trading of Artist Trading Cards is something I look forward to, along with following other artist blogs, like yours. I enjoyed your stories of your artist in residence experience and look forward to your final products.
I am like Lisa's Turtle, Persistent! My prognosis is good and I am determined to get through this.
