Spirits were high. Anticipation to see a possible 50 meteors per hour great. The sunset was divine….
We saw two or three meteors streak the sky at 11 p.m.
Off to bed we went, alarm clock set for 5:15 a.m.
My internal clock woke me before the alarm – excitement is such a wonderful thing. Out the door I went. I offered to let Rob stay snug as a bug just incase – no sense 2 of us getting up at this way too early hour 🙂
Clouds! All over the place! What happened to Red Sky at Night, Sailors Delight? Arughhhhh! Okay, I’ll check again in half an hour.
Amazing what can happen in a half an hour. Sunrise was scheduled for 6:44. Out I went just before 6 a.m.
The clouds had moved on, but the sky was way to light. Sigh…….
You got that right, Lisa! Good to see you!
Oh man, what a disappointment 🙁 Like your sunset illustration though!
Thanks, Vickie! Gotta keep trying 🙂
I don't know how many times I have done the same, stayed up to see an eclipse and seen clouds, laid out in a chair with a sleeping bag wrapped around me in Nov to see the Leonid Meteor showers. Love your sketch and your effort!
I know what you mean, Rhonda! It was a bummer getting skunked…… Next time 🙂
So sorry it didn't work out for you – I was up at 6 am and it was already too light to see the streaks 🙁 I had been up every couple of hours all night and should have just gone out on the deck and taken a look but my body told my head NO WAY.
