Lowcountry Field Sketching Workshops ~ Listing Page

One-session instructional, in-the-field journaling classes held around the Lowcountry in Beaufort, Bluffton and Hilton Head. Check back often to see new class offerings. Better yet, sign up for Pam’s Art Studio Newsletter above and get first dibs at registering for classes and so much more!

Length of classes: These are 3.5 hour classes that can last 4 hours. That’s the ‘ish’ typed after ending time.

Skills needed: I welcome all levels of experience. Nature Journaling is food for the soul and quite different from studio painting. If you are familiar with plein air painting, this experience will widen your understanding of the landscape you love to paint. Newbies, don’t be shy. You will create journal pages that show your love for Nature – all you need is the desire to do so.

How many participants? Classes are capped at 8 participants to provide plenty of one-on-one guidance.

Registration: Your registration is your commitment to attend. No refunds issued unless the Field Trip is cancelled all together.

Capturing the Likeness of Trees

December 5, 2024 • 11:00 am – 2:30 pm (ish)

Rain date December 6th / same time

Here in the lowcountry we have many signature tree species: sable palm, loblolly pine, live oaks, water oaks, sycamore, sweet gum, tupelo, lower canopy trees including redbay and horsesugar. Now that winter is closing in, many have lost their greenery. It’s a perfect time to study tree structure that will aid in capturing the likeness of trees with just a bit of study and observation.

Grubbs

Just wanted you to know how much Rob and I enjoyed the workshop. What an amazing place that is, and we both kept remarking to each other about what a incredible opportunity that was.  Thank you, as always, for providing such a welcoming space for everyone who wants to get out there in nature. ~ B.
